there seem to be a file system permission issue, ASP.Net (windows account configured in IIS App Pool settings) needs modify and delete permissions for DNN install directory and all folders and files inside.

Cheers from Germany,

I have seen this error on my site sometimes also and installed Sysinternals (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) to figure out what process accessed the Lucene files but there is nothing. I think there is something funky with Lucene and internal code of DNN.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your answer. Are you referring to the account that is setup on the application pool identity?

Should this account have full access on the website's file system?  I am not sure on what permissions i should give and to which folders/subfolder.

Can you please provide more information about this?

Regards,

Thanos

Well Sebatian mean the account that is Setup for the Application pool use.  The application pool user must have Change, write and execute permissions in the root Folder an have to inherit to all subfolders and files !

I suggest check the wiki and/or the Manuals and video library how to set up DNN.
