I've get several modules which don't (always) display any content. Some are html/text modules which contain only javascript, some display data from a database, based on url parameters (which dnn constantly strips while editing pages) or user roles.

It's not uncommon for me to have 3 or more modules on the screen which are identical empty boxes. To find out which module is which, I have to open the settings of each of the module and with tabbed browsing not working in DNN, that's a lot of work. (When deleting a module, you are asked if you're sure you want to delete 'this', without saying what this is :'( )

Is there a way to identify the modules easier? Preferable show a customizable hint or at least their name in the dotted bar at the top? I see "tags" mentioned as one of the four basic module settings (Module Culture, Module, Module Title and Tags), what are tags? In the Dutch UI it's translated as 'label' which is exactly what I want to do: label the module.

a tag is a way to organise entities into a taxonomy e.g. I might tag a blog, a useful forum post and a wiki page with the tag "security" and then this helps to organise and promote that content. I'm not aware of any way to do what you want via the core (you could do it personally by adding code to the container to check if you are in edit mode and then inject the module type) - its probably a good idea to log to http://www.dnnsoftware.com/voice and see if other people are interesting in also (we try to escalate the most popular community requests)

Roland, if you select your page in Admin > Pages, you will get a list of modules within the list on the right.
btw: Thanks to Philipp Becker from dnnWerk.de for donating this great module.

Cheers from Germany,
