Guys,

bare with me when I ask you all this..Im relatively new to DNN, I downloaded and installed the asp.net 2.0 version of DNN. It ran through the install just fine and created all the database files in SQL Express. My question is, Now how would I take take that .MDF file and create a Database of the exact same nature/content in SQL Server 2000 ? I figured out how to do this in Sql Server 2005 (All you need to do is "Attach" the database and it will generate scripts for the database if you ask it to)

Any suggestions? Also, If I change the Database settings in the Web.config file to point to a local database installed on SQL 2000, will DNN automatically install the database on the SQL Server and not the MDF file ? Please let me know...

Just changing the connection settings will not create the db.  I'm sure someone has posted the proper steps for this somewhere.  You could reference the documentation for the install/upgrade, but in this case you are really dealing with the db and going back a version.  There are differences, so I'm not sure you could simply detach/attach a SQLE MDF to SQL 2000. I think I did this a while back though and did it by using SQL Management Studio for 2005.  I can't test now since the only remaining SQL 2000 server I have is a production one.

Try it with the SQL2005 management tools - it's available as a download to manage SQL Express if you haven't already installed it.
