I want to create a simple website that holds the following functionality:

- It should display an excel-file that I have created myself. Is it possible to upload it and display a certain worksheet within the file on the webpage?

- Next to that I would like a second page that is only visible for an administrator. Here I would like the functionality to update the excelsheet. Is that possible?

Joost,

You can definitely do that in DNN! I made a video that demonstrates the permissions capabilities within DNN. You can find that video here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygXKu9...

And you can easily upload documents (excel, word, ppt) via the Digital Asset Manager or the HTML Module.

Thanks for your reaction!
My main question still remains though: is it possible to display the content of the excelsheet in the webpage? So for instance a selection of the first worksheet, say A1:G20, is displayed on a webpage. I know it's possible to create HTML using Excel, so I am wondering if there's a way to do this in DNN.

DNN Platform is extendet with modules, Providers and Skins.  By Default this is possible, but it could Need that you Need a custom module.  Wit would be possible to create any Office Reader or write a Provider to connect to the officeAPP Server.  Personaly I don't know about existing modules at time.

I don't exactly understand what you mean. Do you mean that is possible by default because the option exists to create the desired functionality myself, by building a module? I don't think that is really an option for me, considering my developing-experience:).

Or do you mean that you know that it is possible, but you don't know if I would need a third party module for it?

Either way: If there ís a certain module specifically developed for this functionality, that would be awesome! Anyone?
