Hello

On refering at thread

http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/forumid/7/threadid/467626/scope/posts/threadpage/4

I have an identical problem with DNN7.1 and an hight w3wp process memory consuming !

On my test machine the DNN installation with 20 custom modules (developped by Me in Net4.0) there are only 2 dnn w3wp app pool process  that consume 200K max memory twice with hight performance!

The identical site on prod. machine consume 3 w3wp process with 800K with VERY LOW performance and hight errors situation for the users experience. The prod machine after 6h of activity, cause a system crash for a total memory consuming.

If there is a solution for these problem or a check list with some verification step points... some one can post it ?

My system configuration is

  • Test PC: Windows server 2008 - 64bit, IIS 6.1, DNN7.1, 8GB Ram, 4 Cores processors, SQLServer2008R2
  • Prod PC: Windows server 2008 - 64bit, IIS6.1, DNN7.1 10GB Ram, 2 Cores processor for a Xeon, SQLServer2008R2

Very thx !

if the site consumes more and more memory, it sounds like a memory leak - but if it happens on prod. server only, it might be caused by an issue of the garbage collector (though it's the first time I hear about this).
How much memory did the site consume after some hours runtime?

Hello

After more and more test on prod machine the situation is identical.
I have setted the IIS with 6 app pool, alfter 24h of working process the machine memoy is in a deadly situation: 6 x 800KB Ram used !!

I have performed a new test wit a new test machine with 4GB RAM, 2 cores, SQLS (whit share point and TFS installed !) and 500GB hdd.. the siutation is magicaly changed: DNN very fast and hight performance !
The migration situation used is identical: SQL dump and restore, DNN configuration table manualy changed, file system copy and paste, directory permission applied...

I dont wknow the cause and i dont know how i can check the garbage collector (in my application module i have forced the GC work but .. notking is changed)
