Hello Stefan! (or anyone reading this...)

I tried using your example. But no luck.

I have 3 columns:
1. name: Title   type: Text
2. name: LinkURL    type: URL
3. name: LinkTitle    type: Calculated Column
    extended settings: '<a href="' + LinkURL + ' ">'  + Title +  '</a>'

This doen't work.
Here's a sample:
Title: NBA
LinkURL: http://www.nba.com
LinkTitle: www.nba.com ">NBA where www.nba.com has a link to
    http://localhost/dnn/portal/page/tabid/244/%3Ca%20href=

Am I missing something here?
One last thing.
Changing the type of LinkURL to Text works. But I want that field to have the input interface of a URL field wherein you can select an existing page on your portal.

Is this possible using Calculated Column?
If not, can I create an XSL to implement this? How do I do that?

Hope you can help me on this.
Thanks a lot!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jared

Hello everyone!

FYI:
I was already answered here:
http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/56/threadid/69772/scope/posts/Default.aspx

You just need minor tweaks to have an image link instead of a text link.

Thanks Stefan!

Well I saw this post and thought it was *the* solution to my problems... but this doesn't appear to work if the URL field is anything other than a native URL e.g. it doesn't work with links to a site resource such as a file... because then referencing the FieldName_UDT_Url in a computed field still returns a URL containing LinkClick.aspx what I was trying to get rid of - I just want to link directly to the file name with using the LinkClick.aspx interface.

before I write my first (long waited) xsl example  I will offer a second option:

Create 3 columns:

  1. Name: URL  Type: URL  Visible = false
  2. Name:Picture Type:URL Visible = false
  3. Name:Link Type: CalculatedColumn Visible=true ExtentedSettings:
    'Download

For downloads from the site, only LinkClick.aspx allows application of security settings per folder and shall be supported by modules.
