looking at the code it should just be setting AUM_ReplaceSpaceWith to an empty string - however there is some odd logic later which suggests that it's checked against ReplaceSpaceWithNothing so you may have to set it to "None"

When you say "...set it to None" are you referring to a setting (AUM_ReplaceSpaceWith) in the PortalSettings table or a variable in code?

Cathal, You the MAN!

Adding a row for a setting AUM_ReplaceSpaceWith = None to the PortalSettings table does indeed override the default behavior of replacing space with dashes. Here is the row:

0 AUM_ReplaceSpaceWith None 1 2013-12-13 09:51:14.283 1 2013-12-13 09:51:14.283 en-us

Is there a comprehensive list of portal settings available somewhere?

Glad to hear it worked. As to the list of settings, no - they're all contained within code at present. DNN customers get a utility to set the values - this is how we managed the infinity acquisition i.e. we bought them, added all the code to the core but only added the management module to the customers versions to help justify the price - that said we have no issue with anyone writing a utility to do so (I believe there is one on codeplex) or any discussion of the settings - we're just trying to make our customer versions look attractive without limiting the free users (as much as we would like to give everything away for free that's a great way to bankrupt yourself)

It is certainly a difficult balance; however, keep in mind that experience with the “free” version reflects on the “paid” version particularly with something like this. Settings make software robust so it would be easy to assume DNN is not robust as it relates to URL management. DNN Corp then loses a customer because functionality was intentionally hidden.

I would encourage DNN Corp to do 2 things. 1) Never use information/knowledge or lack thereof in an attempt to gain customers. 2) Implement some type subscription service like Microsoft’s MSDN. If you do those 2 things you will empower developers like myself to effetely evangelize AND DELIVER on DNN Evoq.

My 2 cents for free. I actually have a 3rd "thing" but that will cost ya. :-)

Cathal, my sincerest thanks for you help.
