Thanks, changing it in the db table worked, now I have the ribbonbar but still can't access the host settings.. everything else seems to be fine

Error: Host Settings is currently unavailable. I posted this on your other thread already (http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/for... - please don't open multiple threads for the same problem) - but in short 7.2.0 reads your smtp password and then encrypts it. As your install failed that's not done, but the system is failing as it tries to decrypt a plaintext password. You can go into the hostsettings table and look for the "SMTPPassword" value and clear it out -the decryption method knows to ignore empty strings. You will then be able to access this page and re-enter your smtp password

Sorry about the multiple posts.. I was in desperate mode and the dnn forum was also giving me some errors when trying to post.
