Having read the system requirements page for DNN 7.x, it does mention Windows Server 2012 and IIS 8.0 but it does not mention r2 or IIS 8.5.

I have an existing 7.2 site running on Windows 2008r2.  A straight copy of the files to IIS 8.5, setting app pool permissions, etc, results in the site not loading correctly.

Is DNN supported in 2012 R2 IIS 8.5 or am I missing some steps.  I know, loose details here.  I'll troubleshoot further once someone can tell me it works or will save myself effort if it is confirmed to not work.

The system requirements are minimum prerequisites, anything later than that is fine (we have a number of Microsoft MVPS and typically have been testing windows/sql from the beta versions). I'm running a few sites under Windows 2012r2 (and sql 2012r2) and they work fine - I did have some issues getting them setup as windows 2012r2 is even more locked down than earlier versions so I had to install and configure quite a lot of roles/steps i.e. the basic role didn't even install .net -http://www.iis.net/learn/install/inst... seems to be a decent document .

If the listed requirements are the minimums, why bother listing all of the operating systems and all of the versions of IIS? You show 2008, 2008r2, 2012 but that leads one to believe that 2012 r2 isn't supported yet as someone felt compelled to include 2008r2 on the list.  Why not just say 2008+ then...

We know that architecturally the platforms can change from version to version and as you suggest 8.5 is locked down even further.  I've done a test install and out of the box it doesn't work.  the site loads, but for some reason I don't seem to get any CSS code loading.  So while R2 and 8.5 might be supported, does someone have a document outlining the tweaks required to get it working?

Note: if the site is loading at all that suggests you have the configuration correct (asp.net tends to all work or all not work, not partially work - and there is nothing special about DNN). What you're probably seeing is IE enhanced security which stops scripts executing - you can verify this by browsing from a different computer or installing a different browser, or disabling it (which is not recommended on an internet facing server) http://blog.blksthl.com/2012/11/28/ho... . Finally, make sure you've installed all the relevant patches, particularly http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980368 which is needed for extensionless urls (if you're using that configuration)

I get the same results if I view with Chrome or IE.  The hotfix patch you mention above is for 2008, doesn't apply to Server 2012r2. I'm browsing from a client, not directly on the server.

Here is how the default site looks to me...
