One of my clients manually registers his customers to their site in order to give them access to reports that he generates for them.

My question is- Is there a way to make the new user registration email that the user receives include not only their username, but their password as well?

passwords can only be sent, if using encrypted passwords (DNN 7 default: hashed) and password retrieval option has been turned on for MS Membership component in web.config.
I am not sure, whether the default DNN registration still includes the password in notification though.

As Sebastian says, this is only possible if you are using encrypted passwords. If you are setting up a new site you can change the web.config to this setting, but you will have to edit the resx and add back in the password i.e your password is :[MEMBERSHIP:PASSWORD]

Isn't it unencrypted passwords ?

nope - only hashing is a one-way operation so there is no possibility to show a user their password (hence the introduction of password reset links). If a site chooses to use clear or encrypted passwords they can alter the various mail's resx to include the password i.e. revert to pre 7.1.0 behaviour.
