Hi there

I just upgraded to 7.2 from 7.1.2 and cannot now access the Site Settings page.

I get the following error:

Error: Site Settings is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: [FolderName]\DesktopModules\Admin\Portals\SiteSettings.ascx.cs(1324): error CS0117: 'FriendlyUrlSettings' does not contain a definition for 'VanityUrlPrefixSetting' ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: d:\websites\summerfestivalguide.co.uk\DesktopModules\Admin\Portals\SiteSettings.ascx.cs(1324): error CS0117: 'FriendlyUrlSettings' does not contain a definition for 'VanityUrlPrefixSetting' at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean throwIfNotFound, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean throwIfNotFound, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResult(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.WebFormsModuleControlFactory.CreateModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleControlFactory.LoadModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I do use the iFinity URL Master module so I am not sure if that is the issue but this was working fine in 7.1.2

Everything else on the site seems to work fine.

Just doing some debugging and it works when I comment out this line:

(LINE 1334) PortalController.UpdatePortalSetting(_portalId, FriendlyUrlSettings.VanityUrlPrefixSetting, vanilyUrlPrefixTextBox.Text, false);

That was a new string constant added in 7.2.0. The only way for that error to occur would be for the upgrade to have failed to place the new DotNetNuke.dll assembly for v 7.2.0 in the website's /bin folder. Please check the version of this file. I suspect that it is still that for v 7.1.2. In most cases this failure is due to insufficient file system permissions having been granted to the ASP.Net worker process account (IIS Identity account). Modify permissions are required. Another frequent cause is that that the downloaded upgrade zip folder was not "unblocked" prior to extraction of all files. Unfortunately, it is also likely that other errors occurred during the upgrade. Did you make backups of the file system and database prior to the upgrade in case it is necessary to restore back to v 7.1.2 ?

Hi there William

I checked the version of the DotNetNuke.dll and it is 7.2.0.

I have backed up the DB and Website but I don't want to revert.

I fixed this now, it seems it was a conflict with the iFinity.FriendlyURLProvider.dll which I have now removed.
