I'm trying to set up MS Visual Web Developer 2010 to make a skin for my DNN 7.02 site. I have never skinned in DNN nor have used MS Visual Web Developer 2010 before. So I found this tutorial:

 I dont know what I'm doing wrong,  but on the "Setting Up Your Development Environment" section part 3.  I am stuck. I cant find the "After a few moments, a DotNetNuke install should open in a web browser. If you are presented with the following message, right-click on the information bar at the top and enable the intranet settings in the Internet Explorer."

I cant find the "intranet" setting in IE and when I do try to skip past thati I get stuck on the installing screen and the bar doesn't move. Please help!

I've never seen that tutorial, but it sounds to be mixing up installing DNN and creating the skin. Here is the tutorial I always point folks to.

I saw this one but it didnt describe how to set up the Visual Web Developer, which I REALLY want to learn how to use with this effort. I'll come back around to this now that you bring it up.  Thank you.

I use Visual Studio rather than VWD so this may be wrong but I'd bet that it's correct. IMO setting up VWD has nothing to do with creating a skin. VWD is just a tool that's good at editing ascx and html files.

The only important thing (I say) is to save the file to the correct place for DNN to pick it up. Joe's tutorial covers that.

I agree with Richard, you don't need to worry about the IDE (many skinners use notepad anyway) - see http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... for useful links
