DNN 7.02 install on Server 2012 R2 w/ IIS 8.5 does not seem to work.  The files unzip, the app pool has been given the correct directory rights but installation will not work and just throws an error about missing application.

Has anyone else attempted an install on this platform and have any insight into this issue or some steps to install on this platform?

Thanks

So what's the actual error?

I would install DNN in the root of your website instead of a virtual application directory.

With "With a new site I get a 404 when lauching http://site name/dotnetnuke" how have you configured IIS for "http://site name/dotnetnuke"?
