We're moving a 500+ page Joomla site into DNN.  Has anyone had any experiencing scripting the move of the basic Joomla articles to pages with HTML modules in DNN?

Sebasitan, do you mean why we are moving the site from Joomla to DNN? I feel like I am preaching to the choir here, but the main reasons are that there Joomla site is on 1.5, is getting hacked constantly, has some serious performance and stability issues, and is a bear to edit.

The reason we are trying to script moving this content in is to save the man hours in development time it is going to take to copy and paste the content over.

FWIW its not something that I would consider using a script for as such - using scripts to directly access the ms sql tables tends to be fraught with issues.

Instead - what I would look at is building a small custom module that could use native calls to the dnn api to handle all of the heavy lifting work.

In this way - you would not need to spend all that extra time working out how to directly manipulate the core dnn sql tables for all the regular business rules.

Basically the module could be a simple reader that pulls the joomla data structure in - then in a loop:

adds a new tab, configuring roles, injects a html module, and then injects the joomla article into the HTML module.
