there is not a problem with sql server 2005. If you used sql server 2005 express you have to make sure the protocols used are turned on (like tcp/ip and named pipes). In a default sql server express install these are turned off

Say more about the TCP/IP pipes.  I have not been able to get SQL Express to work with DNN on my Windows XP Pro computer.  I can connect to a SQL express database with v studio... but same connection string/passwords don't work with dnn

Open the SQL Server Configuration manager (from start menu > all programs > sql server 2005 > configuration tools), select the sql server 2005 network configuration node, next select the Protocols for SQLEXPRESS node. THere you see all protocols available, and there status. Enabling named pipes and tcp/ip might solve your problems

if your not using sql express make sure you < -- put these around them --> and take the ones for the sql server out.

 

Oh MAN! This is freaking awesome mannnn.

  I just got the 4.3.2 to work man!!! Took me a day though, make sure you sql server excepts server and windows authenticate!   ITs Alive!!!
