This is quite an SEO question. But in my DNN site. Appreciate if anybody can help me out for this problem.

I am getting an error for my web site in google search results description like this.

A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more.

But robots file seems not have an issue.

This is what I have now.

User-agent: * Disallow: /

Please advise me what to do to fix this issue.

Also This same site has two domains (say A and B) and that domain name (A) has redirected to the second domain (B) url through the hosting control panel. That domain name (A) has this problem and I can not see the (B) domain name in the search results right now.

Please help.

Thank You!

Hi,

Your robots file specifies that everything below / (i.e. your entire site) should be disallowed by all search engines. So that's why Google can't index anything.

To enable indexing, remove the / so your robots.txt reads:

User-agent: *
Disallow:

alternatively, remove the robots.txt file.

Ok. Thank you for the advises.

I have done the same by changing the robots file and was waiting 24 hours. Not changed it yet. Any idea about how much time will it take to get back normal? I cannot delete this since it needs for the SEO.

Thank You.

I think the re-indexing time depends on quite a few factors, so it's not guaranteed to be updated within 24 hours. You could try re-submitting the sitemap, which should cause a download of the new robots.txt:

thanks,
