That sounds very interesting Leupold, if that's true that 7.3 has that option, id rather upgrade this 7.2 installation to a 7.3 than make some workaround, which might just get overwritten if/when I apply a future upgrade.

I am running 7.3 and am unable to locate this setting. Has anyone else had any luck removing the communications section?

like you, i want hide communication tab, and some fileds (like email address) from profile page.

anyone can help me ?

You cannot hide basic information like username, displayname and email address. If a user gets a new email address, he'll need to update his profile accordingly to get further notifications and messages from the website.
