Hello,

I've had a portal running for many years with several child portals all running smoothly. Now, the parent portal is no longer in use (domain not renewed) and none of the 5 child portals are working due to a redirection problem. The hosting company doesn't know how to fix this apparently  I am in deep trouble. I would really appreciate some help in this matter, how to set the portals to function without the parent portal.

Thanks in advance

Leif

child portals are based off a sites url (e.g. mysite.com) so a child portal will be mysite.com/child etc. If you no longer have the domain then the requests will not route to the DNN application. You'll have to have a domain that resolves as the sites IP address, but it doesn't matter what it is - you can edit the values for the child site(s) in the PortalAlias table (see the HTTPAlias column).
