When I try to upgrade from 7.0.6 to any newer version, it throws an error at Installing DDR Menu 2.0.3 (which is eventually moves beyond), then stalls at FiftyOneClientCapabilityProvider 7.1.0 (and never moves beyond that). This is a production copy that was originally DNN6 (so, it was upgraded TO 7.0.6). A fresh copy of DNN7.0.6 in the same IIS folder and database configuration installs without any problem.

I have full access to the server.

Cany anyone offer some guidance?

just remove those two zip files from the relevant install folder(s) i.e. install/modules and install/providers and try the upgrade. You can then try installing them via host->extensions->install new extension. Note: I'd check and make sure that the web.config file is not marked readonly and that the application pool user associated with site has "modify" permissions, not just add and delete.

Okay...figured out what was going on and it was actually a problem that I had caused. At one point, I modified the stored procedure GetPortalDesktopModules to ensure that modules that I was unable to mark as premium did not show up on the available modules for portals. This was then causing issues when the newer versions of those providers tried to install (because it would duplicate index values). Once I reset that procedure to its original state AND removed all of the failed providers that it would have attempted to install, the upgrade is working fine.
