Tried installing, uninstalling... But I install CKeditor and when I go to the HTML Editor Manager, I get this note on the top:

"RadEditorProvider is not default html editor provider now, any changes will not apply to current editor provider. If you want to make configuration take effect please update default provider to 'DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider' in left drop down list."

and below I get a grayed out CKEditor Provider Config Manager with a white box over it "Please Wait... Loading Options Page" ...

Anyone have any idea why this is happening... I have heard there were issues with the default RadEditor, and I actually like CKEditor so I wanted to implement it before I started any of my website...

Thanks,
Steve

that what I would expect - the html editor manager is really "telerik html editor manager" as it's only aware of that providers details - if you use an alternative provider you will have to configure it another way.

rad editor manager offers the option to select the editor provider being used, but after you installed CKEditor provider, it will be configured automatically as default provider and disable RAD editor configuration. There should have been new CKEditor Configuration module added beneath on the same page, but admins are able to access CKEditor configuration using the link beneath any instance. This worked for me on all recent versions including latest betas.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Sebastian, what I thought was a problem was actually not a problem. I was getting that please wait message when going into the settings, so I removed the CKEditor Config module from the HTMLEditor Manager page, so CKEditor is the editor now... And I just noticed the link you were talking about, so I will begin to play with this.

I also noticed a bunch of xml files in the Portals\0\ folder which I assume I could probably edit as well... I could do that for each site if I wanted something different for each I guess.

ck stores most of its settings in xml files, of course you may edit it manually - but make sure to save a valid XML structure, otherwise the editor will fail loading.
