Hello.

The Forum module was working OK on DNN 07.02.00, but after upgrading to DNN 07.02.01 I started to get a "Module Load Exception" error when I click to add a new Forum.
I'm able to create new groups, but not new Forums.

The error is:

it doesn't look like a platform issue -the exception is thrown by the forums code. Based on the error it looks like there is a limit of the number of forums that can be created (in this case 4) and that you are trying to create a 5th and an exception is thrown - typically code will catch that error and show a better message (or ideally check for the new number of forums and not offer the add new forum button. I don't know forums well enough, but I'd guess this is a configurable option somewhere in it's settings (as forums can certainly support more than 4 forums)

Hello Cathal,

I understand your point of view, but I don't know if that's the problem.
When I got the error I already had 37 Forums In 4 Groups.

The last created forum was one month ago with DNN 07.02.00.
I am able to create new groups, the error only happens on the creation of new forums.

The error is showing in both development and production machines. The upgrade procedure to 07.02.01 didn't produce any error in both machines.

For now, the workaround was to create the forum and access permissions directly in the database...

Hello Sebastian,

I know that Forums module development has "stopped", it's a long time since last version.
I already considered the migration to ActiveForums, but I'm delaying it because I'm not very sure about the future of a Forums module in DNN.
During time I read some inconsistent news and that's why I'm still running Forums module.

Can you enlighten me about what may happen with Forums/ActiveForums?
ActiveForums was absorbed by DNN, will it be featuring in future DNN releases?
Or, will DNN keep trying to implement a social network solution that, imho, will never be a solution for a forum like structure?

Thanks in advance,
Ricardo
