It helps to show the year when displaying the blog's date. I had another post to display the author at the top. 

Example: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/comm.... Mar 19. It can't be this year. 2013? Nope. It's 2012 according to the date at the bottom of the post. 

Important info needs to be shown at the top.

+1. So many blogs do this, and it's just bad design.

Have developers learnt nothing from Y2K!!? (probably a new generation)

If you're going to display a date, show all of it!!!! Not just a few bits of it.
