I just did a new install of 7.02.01. It's running fine. I am on Windows 7/SQL Server Express 2008R2.

I would guess it is related to your environment. What is your environment?

Best wishes,

I also would like to know full details of the environment (OS, IIS version, ,net version and sql version) as we've had a few other reports of this but cannot reproduce (and we use multiple environments) - the guess is that it is an unsupported environment or an unusual configuration (one anecdotal report stated that installing http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980368 resolved it). Nonetheless for people who have had the issue they were able to work around it by editing default.aspx.cs and removing the ManageGettingStarted(); line

I don't know if this update did the job, however I installed the latest updates (9 available) and works.

It does not seem right though, since those 9 were published after the release of 7.02.01.

Anyway, now it looks fine.

perhaps it was a corrupted javascript file in your browser's temporary internet files - we occasionally hear of cases such as this where a user resolves it by doing a CTRL+F5 to force a refresh (that should not be necessary as we use the client dependency framework for javascript registrations, but that only handles cached files and likely cant do much if a file is somehow corrupted). Clearing their browser cached files, or using a "different" site e.g. a different url structure (so it does use the corrupted file) also "fixes" this - so it's possible that some windows updates, particularly if one or more was for IE had a similar effect. Annoying, but thankfully very rare.
