For selected Social Groups in DNN Social, we are offering additional DNN modules on their group page, in addition to the journal module. We want to secure those additional modules using social group roles. Here is a link to an  example group page.

However, when we add a module to a group's page, it appears on all other group pages. We have given module-level view permission only to the group in question using social group roles. We have disabled view privileges for all other roles. It's as if DNN is not recognizing permission settings and is giving everyone access to the modules.

We are stumped on this and would appreciate any advice. Basically, we want to secure modules using social group roles.

Thank for your help.

Hello johnwolf,

If you are a DNN Social customer then I would be able to help you better if you create a support ticket here: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/support/su...

I will need to see a screenshot of the specific module permissions you have applied to the module you do not want displayed to all groups. I have configured it on a test site and the system is respecting the permission settings I have applied.

One thing to consider is if the user you are testing with, is part of one group which has access to view the module, it will be able to see the module regardless of which group they are currently viewing.

Thank you, Ben. Perhaps I have the terminology wrong. I am referring to the former Active Social module that is now integrated into DNN.

Here is the permissions window for one module on the page: http://www.johnwolf.net/img/s4/v62/p8...

"SOS Template Satsangs" is a social groups role. All others are global roles.

Does this help you? I'm fairly new in the Admin position.
