Hi, I am new to DNN development. I downloaded the DNN 7.2.2 release source and tried to run from the source (DNN_Platform.sln). I got the following error message message:

Unhandled exception at line 92, column 5 in http://localhost/DNN_Platform/Default.aspx

0x800a1391 - JavaScript runtime error: '$' is undefined

Could some body shed some light on what might have gone wrong?

you'll need to build source version first, before you are able to install it.
However, for module and skin development, you don't need the source version, just use install and a proper dev template.

I was trying to run DNN_Platform.sln directly form Visual Studio 2012. I rebuilt everything and set the startup project to DNN_Platform. When I run from VS2012 I got the javascript error message. Any clue?

you don't set the startup project to dnn_platform as it's the library, instead you use default.aspx in the website as the start page (which is the default in the sln)

Yes I already set the Default.aspx as the start page. The code is running but it crashes in the browser due to the missing jQuery library error.
