Sebastian.... I don't know what you did exactly with your turboDNN scripts but it seems like magic to me.

I'm totally new to DNN but running it on my local machine, with EMPTY website and seeing it running sooooo slow I was about to completly abandon this platform. Then for some reason I stumbled on this topic and tried your scripts. I had nothing to loose (I didn't even backup the db since I was going to uninstall everything the same) and I was not expecting much from your improvements, maybe just a light boost but WOW!!!!!!!

Your script changed everything! Now the platform is blazing fast or at least fast as you should expect! I don't know how you did it and I don't know why those fixes (because those are plain FIXES) are not included in the release version of DNN... but for sure they will because it would be insane to not do it, anyway thanks thanks thanks.

I loved the whole concept behind DNN since many features are the ones I'm after since 10 years with my little custom made CMS only extremely more evolved BUT it would have been unusable if it kept going so slow.

Please don't drop the project, update it even if DNN won't (for some crazy reason) include them in the base.

Thanks

PS. I didn't find a topic devoted to your scripts did I look the wrong places? I think something that extreme should have at least it's own topic...

Max,
thanks for your feedback, this is just a first step, I am continuously working on this subject and am currently following a more extensive approach, I will try to provide for the community (most likely not within the core platform, because I am becoming too tired convincing the people in charge).

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

YAF is the only solid forum module for DNN nowadays.
It has some glitches with dnn (user integration and multiple boards) but thewatcha always provides a fix within reasonable time.

I wonder what is DNNsoftware's reasons for not implementing those optimizations. Anyway, I know that SQL Server's optimizations need to be tested in all kinds of queries. For example a select optimization on a table which returns results quicker might actually down inserts on the same table. In general these optimizations work fine in small tables (typical for DNN installations) but with tables with hundreds of thousands of rows, optimizations need to be carefully tested in different scenarios of usage of these tables.

I will be applying TurboDNN soon too. In general I am not thrilled with DNN's performance for a just installed DNN. I notice this most with the popup windows which get their content asynchronously.  Long delays.
