Tony,
TurboDNN was originated by a site of a client, which suffered by performance with its 160.000 users.
Of course, there are additional optimizations possible, due to the live situation, which is a challenge for a flexible platform like DNN, which may either serve a single large site or hosting hundreds of small websites. TurboSQL tries to optimize indexes for faster access, TurboSchema adds use of indexed views, which significantly improves query time and might slightly affect add/update/delete performance - but usually there are more selects (up to 100 per page view, hopefully these numbers will be reduced by DNN core optimizations in 7.3.0) than modifications of users, pages and modules.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

ActiveForum is not good module for RTL languages... the Characters are not UTF8 support for browsers and from google developer tools we receive several errors because bad URL address generation;.
Also JQuery dose not work correctly on Firefox browser and just work on IE.. and not yet repair and solve yet...

Armin, another option might be YAF.net (dnn integration by Ingo Herbote at dnnyafnet.codeplex.com)
