I've just installed my very first DNN on a local xp computer for an intranet site. I used the default website rather than a blank one.  all went well until i went onto the home page and there was a red box that said 'A critical error has occurred. The specified cryptographic algorithm is not supported on this platform. '(browser is IE 8)

 I debugged the site  and it said:

 I'm a complete beginner so haven't got a clue what to do so some help would be very much appreciated.

I'm sorry, but since DNN 7.0, XP (which uses IIS6) is no longer supported - see http://www.dnnsoftware.com/platform/s... for the list of supported OS's. In this particular case the problem is that code uses a hashing algorithm that XP does not support.
