How do I know if a module is compatible with the Social Groups Module?

A few modules, such as the Journal Module, state explicitly that they are compatible with the Social Groups Module, but only a few. Is a module not compatible unless it says it is compatible? If not, if a module can be compatible without stating explicitly, then how do I know if it is compatible? This applies both to DNN Framework modules (the ones installed with DNN) as well as third-party modules.

Please correct my terminology. I am not sure what the correct terminology is. I hope you do however understand what I am trying to ask.

Also, if this question is answered elsewhere then you can just tell me where.

there are currently a limited number of modules compatible with social groups in a manor that they are able to interpret the group id in URL and limit display of content to this group or assign new items directly with this group. Besides core modules Journal and Membership Directory, there are Active Forums and Ultra Media Gallery (AFAIK) and maybe some of the modules from www.ventrian.com. Other modules should state it in their description in the store or on codeplex.com.

Thank you, Sebastian. That helps and I hope it helps others. It really helps to know that there is not a specific way to reliably determine what will work and that we generally must rely on the module's description.

I will look at www.ventrian.com. Also, I have purchased a license for OnyakTech and they are working on some.

I will eventually develop modules myself, at least for use in my project.
