I'm trying to upgrade a DNN 5.6.3 site to at least supported mode.  I've got it to DNN 6.2.8, but the Gallery module I've been using for years won't display my photos, even though I can edit the configuration and see the files there, run maintenance and everything.  It won't display the pictures.  I have upgraded to Gallery 4.4.0, which CodePlex tells me is the last version, to be replaced by something totally different that won't be a plug-in replacement.  I tried to post a question in the Gallery forum as linked from Codeplex, but it wouldn't even post, the last post was in 2013.

What would you recommend we do?  I expect the site to be replaced shortly (but who knows?) by a new site on a different platform, probably WordPress, managed by someone else.  Is there some module that could work with the Gallery directories to display photos or would I have to redo everything?

Hedera,

I am not sure if there are scripts to import from the DNN Gallery, but Ventrian Simple Gallery is really a great gallery module for not much money. I would ask Scott if there are possibilities to import, on the other hand it is quite easy to setup everything from scratch as it includes a multiple file upload control.

Best wishes

Michael

Thanks for the suggestions, Michael.  In fact it dawned on me (d'oh) that photos in the Gallery module may not be displaying because the absolute path on the test laptop is wrong (which it is), which would mean that if I upgrade production where the photos display now, the Gallery modules will probably continue to display photos just fine.  I've consulted with my business partner and we agree that since the DNN site has an uncertain but limited life, if the Gallery doesn't display we'll simply turn off the modules and download the photos for archive.

Because of this limited life span I'm not prepared to go with anything I have to pay for, but thanks for the suggestion.  To be honest, the Gallery module is not a great display option, but it is free, and to an impoverished arts nonprofit that's important!

another nice option is PhotoGallery from www.oliverhine.com (if your images are stored on Flickr or Picasa)

Thanks for the suggestion, but our photos are actually on the web site, no Flickr or Picasa involved.
