Good day,

I am able to successfully modify the RegEx code to regulate the format of Usernames. However, I have searched everywhere (except the right place apparently) to find the language for the error message. I looked in Admin -> Lanuages > SharedResources.resx - Username.RegExError , which the Username RegEx help bubble says controls the error message... But I can't find the Username.RegExError value.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Robert

You likely need to find the .resx file tied to the control you want to modify.  I am not 100% sure where it is based on your description.  However, if you go the module in question, then choose module settings menu and then view source, you should be able to locate the path to the .ascx file.  Once you have that path the .resx file that contains the language should be around there.

Thanks for your reply Stuart. I located the files you are referring to, but they don't contain language settings. The help bubble for "User Name Validation" says:

"Add your own Validation Expression, which is used to check the validity of the user name provided. If you change this from the default you should update the message that a user would see when they enter an invalid username using the localization editor. (SharedResources.resx - Username.RegExError)"

But when I browse to SharedResources.resx, the resource name "Username.RegExError" is nowhere to be found. There are other editable items such as "UserNameExists.Text" or "UserRejected.Text."

Any direction with changing the username error message would be greatly appreciated.

Robert
