Dear All,
My portal is running prefectly at the live website i need to update the dnn from 5.x version to newest version. I download my current version and setup in my local development enviroment every thing working fine except friendly URL

when i am enable friendly URL it's giving me 404 error if i disable it the portal working fine. Regarding to updates i am ok with that but for live site i am not because of SEO

Any one have any idea how to resolve this issue

if you want to use advanced URL in DNN7, please make sure you have a Default Website Alias (in Website Settings) for each language and use redirect option.

I already done the setup for that before transfering

1) Setup protal alias

2) Open port in web.config

3) Checking firendly URL tag must be present in the tag

when i disable the friendly URL option site working fine at local ... Make sure the site is working fine online with friendly URL ... i am sure it some thing in configuration what i am mising

Start by checking the list of portal aliases you have in your site.  You should have a portal alias entry for the environment you are running in, and that alias should be marked as the primary alias for the portal.
