I upgraded one of my dev site to DNN 7.3 from 7.2.2, and important skin objects, such as menu and slider, would not show in the logged out state. When logged in, everything is just fine.

I noticed that the jQuery-Migrate does not load in the logged out state, but does when logged in.

So, I placed the script call for jquery-migrate into a pages header, and logged out. Everything worked perfect.

In earlier versions DNN loaded the jq-m when logged in or out. Why not in this version?

please see the performance section of http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... for more background, but in essence some earlier DNN versions loaded scripts such as jqury-migrate unnecessarily (i.e;. no platform code needed them at that time), which simply added to the page load size and effected performance.

So basically, the skin I purchased and have running on a number of sites will not work in 7.3 or future versions of DNN?

The correct behaviour would be for skins to use the relevant API's for jquery/jqueryhistory registration that have been in place since DNN 5.0, but clearly some have not. We'll do some further assessment of this, and there will likely be a few tweaks to support certain cases, but I'd recommend contacting the skin vendor and suggesting they update the skin so it correctly registers any scripts it plans to use and doesn't assume they will already have been registered by something else.
