It seems now that Gmail has changed their whole platform to 64bit, (or some other change they made) none of the websites setup will allow the SMTP settings to use Gmail.

This causes an issue because a lot of the modules require the SMTP settings to match the module settings. So now, none of our gmail clients are receiving their completed contact forms, or their shopping cart orders, etc.

Any suggestions on dealing with the GMAIL SMTP settings now?

Thank you,

My gmail account is still working, though I had an issue with a custom domain, but I believe it was due to all the spam registrations I was getting (influx of thousands on Sunday) so Gmail started blocking the emails from going out. I ended up turning off registration on that site until things settle down and I can control the registrations.

In the past week 100% of our DNN7+ sites that had Gmail setup in the SMTP settings have stopped sending the emails through contact forms and shopping carts.

I've tried everything to get it to work to no avail.

Here is my settings for using SMTP with a google apps account.

host: smtp.gmail.com:587
auth: basic
ssl: yes
username: [youraccount]@domain.com (again using apps not just a gmail account)
password: [yourpassword]

Also, have you enabled two step verification in gmail? Not sure if that would be an issue or not.
