Good morning everyone,

I'm using a DNN 7.2.2

I see that in Portals\_default\Logs my application is writing very big log files.

I need to disable this log writing, how do I disable this?

It's not important to delete these files, i simply need that DNN doesn't write anymore.

Thank you in advance

Lorenzog,

usually there are errors logged in these files - if they get big it should ring some alarm bells. You can view them using a text editor, I would try to find out the reason for these errors.

As I don't know if writing the logfiles can be turned off or not (and don't remember such an option) I would suggest using a tool like DelAge32, writing a batch file and calling this by a (Windows) scheduled task to get rid of the files.

DELAGE32.EXE C:\DNN\Portals\_default\0\Logs\*.* 10

would delete all files older than 10 days from that folder.

Best wishes
Michael

you may modify log4net.config, not to log Errors, but I would investigate the cause of the errors being logged instead and fix this.

Thank you, I edited the log4net file in this way:

<log4net threshold="OFF" />
