We have localization enabled on our site and we have a complexe permission model for our pages. We have configured all permissions for a language but the other languages have not been set up at the same time.

Is there a way to copy permission model from one language to another ? We tried to look at the database directly but since each page is duplicated, it is not safe to do it there.

DNN Core localization solution uses language specific pages, which are loosely coupled. As a downside, there is no permission sync implemented and it's quite hard to perform in the database, as this Feature has been implemented using a weak data model, sorry. You might need to write a dedicated module.

Thank you Sebastian for the quick answer. That was indeed what I was fearing.
For now we only have one extra language and not much pages so I have done it manually but we may try to find a way to automate this.

I have looked a bit at the database. If someone is interested, here is how I would do it via sql
In Tabs, there is a DefaultLanguageGuid that point to the UniqueId of the associated tab in default language.
Therefore you can copy lines from TabPermission from the default language back to all other tabs.

I am not familiar enough with the data model to be 100% sure this will not break everything but I am confident that would work :)

your finding is correct, you would need to link via this (non-indexed) GUID, same should apply to tabmodules records, which are linking tabs and modules.
