The v7 site has still had "some" spam registrations, the number has fallen dramatically, to about 10 per day, one very 2 hours or so for set period of time.  My theory (yes l have no proof :-< ) is that the reCaptha, still works as it is meant to.

Reading this made me go back to my problem site and further explore what was going on.  I posted earlier reCapcha sometimes worked and others didn't.  When it didn't work, I tested by going to the registration screen, putting in the correct registration parameters, and then putting in an incorrect captch response.  Sometimes the module would correctly catch the incorrect code other times it would generate an obscure exception AND allow the registration to proceed.

Just now I went back to the site to reproduce the issue so I could look at the exception in the Event Viewer.  I was unable to reproduce the issue but however did notice MULTIPLE attempts to log into the site using many robo-generated registrations.  They were all failing due to the fact I've longed since purged un-aunthenticated accounts.

So I believe there is merit to your theory the robo-idiots are now trying to go the manual route on some DNN sites.

Dear Michael

My first way was This was as you told me and even 1% not working..... I disable default registration and do exactly same that but never working for us...

the second way was so better, iweb was the best way but we have registration again but very less than before, but this is not final, because we have spam registration again....

DNN should find Intelligent base solution for registration.

I don't know why nobody thinking about other way like http://dnnmodule.com/ Generated by MS. Xiao Qi as I saw in other forum. They make very simple and cute solution. They remove captcha and use a question / answer method. just humane can answer these questions and robots never can trace it automatically.

DNN developers can make it easy and add in release 7.3.2

Armin,

I always use http://support.dnnsoftware.com (which then rediects to https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/secu...). After logging in, I have this "Create" button on the top of the screen, near the center (from left to right: DNN Logo - Dashboards - Projects - Issues - Agile - Create ...)

Best wishes
Michael
