Mike,

Thank you again for your time and the advice, I am OK for now.

I was try to create some sub-sites like News.MyDomain.com, Movie.MyDomain.com but since there has the issue, it ends up I can only do it with url as MyDomain.com/News, MyDomain.com/Movie; not so happy but it’s workable.

Regards,
Jesse

If you use the alias alone, and correct it afterwards through the database its possible to work-around.
airshipadvertising.in8air.com doesn't create - but airshipadvertising will.

work around. Create site from host with wrong name.
After portal is created edit to correct name in Host>Site Management.

FYI its assigned to 7.3.4 as a "blocker" (which means it has the highest priority)

Buy the new Professional DNN7: Open Source .NET CMS Platform book Amazon US

Looks like this issue - if it was fixed - resurfaced again in DNN 7.4.1
Is there a manual procedure of adding child portal directly in database?
This issue is definitely a "blocker"
