I've successfully upgraded my local host Portal from version 4.0.2 to 4.3.0.

Now i can´t login with host/host (nor host/dnnhost)!

It seems the password has been changed during the upgrade process.

Since i don't have the local smtp server configured, i can´t recover the login data by mail.

Am i missing something?

The 4.3.x versions come with minimum length passwords of 7 by default.  You might be able to simply go to the web.config file and change the 7 to 4 or whatever length you had it and after refreshing the page, try again.

There are several other posts on this in case this does not help.

After re-reading the docs - did you make sure to backup your old web.config file?  As long as you have a copy - no matter how old, just from the functioning install prior to upgrade - then you need to copy the machine keys from the old into the new web.config.

This solution worked just fine, thanks.

By the way, in general, before upgrading what items sould i copy from the old web.config to the new one?

I only updated the login to the DB strings (and now the machine key - that's for sure ;)

Sould i keep any other important configurations? This is important since i'm planning to upgrade the production site.

Sory about my english - not so good...

Those are the only required things (the upgrade settings and the machine key, and shortening the password length if applicable) unless you have made any alterations / customizations to the web.config.  If you have, they must be copied over as well.
