Hi Guys,

just wanted to report on the following happy experience.

I previously had a few challenges with remote installation of 4.3.1 and decided to wait for the next update.  To my delight an update to 4.3.2 appeared quite quickly.

Due to the issues I was having, installs timing out etc I decided to try a different approach.

Here is what I did:

Step 1

I unzipped the files from the install archive in to a folder.

Then I created two seperate folders called "Framework" and "Resources"

I copied all the framework files to the Framwork folder (deleted any unwanted files including dll's, HtmlProvider, App_Data contents etc.)

I copied all resource files to the Resources folder. This included any required install modules, Cutesoft Files (FTB Replacement), ComponentArt, Telerik etc

I then created a zip file called DNNPackage.zip in each folder and packaged up each folder structure.

Finally I kept the web.config seperate from the zip files to prevent any unnecessary premature execution.

Step 2

Then I ftp'd the DNNInstaller Weblet files with Resources folder zip file and unziped it with the script.

Then I ftp'd the Framework folder zip file and unziped it with the script.

Then I ftp'd the web.config file and typed in the url for my domain.  Bang it was up and running in less than five minutes.

After 5 different customized fresh installs I am happy to report that I did not experience one issue.  I did it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Also, I customised my install files with custom templates etc and all executed perfectly....

So I'd like to thank the Core Team for their amazing efforts and thanks for making my evening a productive one....

Regards,

Oyster
