Hi

I've fumbled around with a few scenarios but I'm looking for a module really that can make the process zip along. Basically, I've got a local server (currently Ubuntu running Django but that really doesn't matter), its gathering sensor data and storing it on a local database (could be sql, mysql, sqlite, postgres, whatever). A single table (id, secondary id, timestamp, sensor1, sensor2, etc.). Now, every 24 hours, I want to get all the data from the past 24 hours on to my remote DNN site (hosted by PowerDnn) and update a custom table with that new data. Then I'll run some DNN reports on it and so forth to display the data.

It would be really awesome if there was a solution out there already that could be tweaked to do this. Is there a module that will do this or at least handle the data transfer and storage, which I could then time through the host scheduler?

Thanks
mike

Mike,

You may have to search the DNN store at store.dnnsoftware.com but I've never seen anything like that. It may be too specific to your needs and you may be forced to create it but check the store first.

Hi Mike, other people have been looking for the same solution and the module to handle that will be available as BETA within the next few days.

This new module is a branch of the DNN CMS Importer module that currently provides the exact service you are looking for except that it's data source is specific to Gather Content and Infusionsoft.   In the new module,  you can pull data from any data source and store it into your DNN database.  Then you can use the Data Viewer DNN module to work directly with the data that was imported.  Or you can use the Charts DNN module to display graphs of your data on your DNN web site.

If you would like to get a copy of the BETA release of this module, send an email to Support@OnyakTech.com.

Mike,

I am not sure if this module works with DNN 7, but when you ask there they should be able to tell you:

I think it is exactly doing what you are looking for.

The other way could be to present the data in a web service or JSON from your Linux server and to consume the data using whatever is appropriate (Razor script, knockout.js, module...?).

Best wishes
Michael
