I wish to maintain i.e. Add/Update/Delete/Retrieve the items in the DotNetNuke Lists, programmatically. I don't want the User to manually add items there. Is it possible? How?

there should be a listInfo and listController class, but I don't have access to DNN source atm.

Sebastian is correct -listcontroller has methods for AddListEntry, UpdateListEntry and DeleteListEntry that are what you need to manage lists programmatically
