I am using this code <%# NavigateUrl(PortalSettings.HomeTabId) %> in c# (which is the needed control language for our skin for specific reasons) and NavigateUrl is throwing an error .. how do I get the portal's home url?

Mike,

What version of DNN are you running?  Also, what is the specific error you are getting?  Have you tried running in debug mode to get a full stack trace of the error?

DNN version: 7.0.x

Error says the NavigateURL is not available in this context.

I don't even know what a stack trace is,.. how do I get that?

you get the stack trace by entering Admin > Event Viewer. click on the item which is associated with your issue (by time and message) and you will be displayed with all Details.

Forget the stack trace - this is a compile error and a stack trace will be useless. I think you require some qualification of NavigateUrl.

Try DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.NavigateUrl
