I have a DNN professional site running 6.2.2.

It has been downgraded to DNN Community successfully - version 6.2.2.

I have then upgraded the 6.2.2 Community version to DNN Platform 7.3.1.

I am no longer able to log in to anything.  Logging in as Host is ignored - the page just sits there.

Log shows the login being successful but then returns an exception message straight after that. (PageLoadException - InnerException: Parameter count does not match)

If I just install the 7.3.1 Community version, I can log in fine and create pages etc. - so it is not a hardware issue.

I can even re-create the domains I am working with in the 7.3.1 Community site.

Don't want to have to do that for 145 of them though. :(

A pointer to what to check would be wonderful.

Yes. I was on .Net 2 until I finished the upgrade to DNN Platform 7.3.1 and then changed the sites to .Net 4.  And then tried to Log in.

Should I have switched it when I was at the DNN Community 6.2.2 stage?

Or should I take the upgrade of the DNN Community sites in steps. 6.2.2 to 7.0.1, switch to .Net 4.0 and then 7.0.1 to 7.3.1?

you definitely need to switch framework version before browsing DNN for the first time after the upgrade to version 7.x, otherwise the web.config doesn't get modified.
While being on DNN 6, you may switch to .net 4 by merging changes into web.config file using Configuration manager (load web.config file on top and apply /install/config/Net40.config merge file).

OK, Trying again.

Professional moved to Community 6.2.2. - success

Switching to .Net 4.0

Next is an upgrade of Community to 7.0.6

After that, should I go straight to 7.3.2 or stop off at 7.3.1?
