We are currently doing a review of all the community sections on DNNSoftware.com and will be making a lot of changes over the next month or two to provide better tools and an improved experience for our community.  I will also be working with various community members to implement some of these changes and will be giving those community members permissions to manage their area of the site.

As the first step in this process and in the spirit of being more open and transparent, I have created a new DNN Platform Roadmap page.  This is a work in progress and you can expect to see lots of changes in the coming weeks as I work with Oliver Hine to tie the roadmap to the Community Voice section of the site.

Really happy to see there's a DNN roadmap. Maybe you can also show this in Codeplex (Download - Planned).

Very curious which features from the Community Voice will be realized first.
I agree the DNN Core has te be modernized to compete with other CMS like Umbraco, Sitecore and Wordpress but there are also many quick wins by upgrading the core modules: forum, announcement, forms, user directory etc.

DNN is mainly focused on making to core better and adding core features. But we have several core modules that haven't been updated for years.

If we can get DNN more userfriendly, lighter/faster and drop dependancies I'm convinced the next chapter will be a succes (with or without breaking changes).

Sorry to see Shaun step aside but the new direction can be the beginning of someting good!

Joe, we know that you'll do well in the new role and we're excited to see the new voice that you bring to the position.

You're a favorite to catch up with a DNN conventions and User Group meetings and I'm looking forward to tuning in to all the updates you bring us going forward.

Excellent to have a Road Map to look to, thank you.

Congrats for the new position. Go do awesome things!

- Ryan

Okay Joe - I am totally beside myself right now in seeing MVC page/module support on the Roadmap for Q1 2015! Do you think you guys will be able to get some preliminary guidelines out for module developers to follow in preparing for such a great leap with the platform? As always, please let me know if you need anything. We are committed to the DNN Community!
