I'm just curios-- what WebHost is providing 4.3.x as a full release at this point?  Perhaps the core team should look into this...

I can't speak directly for the CT, but as 4.3.2 and 4.3.1 are release candidates, it is my feeling that upgrades are not guaranteed from those version to the gold release.

The best advice has already been given, run 4.0.3 for production and upgrade when the release is available.

Probably not that many since 4.3.? is still in RC and a production version has not been released.  Wait until the final produciton version is released and there a quite a few that will make it available (most of the time you just need to ask).  Plus, most hosters allow you to install your own applications and manage your databases, so if you did not want to use thier click once setup you can use any version of DNN you want to.

I understand all of that...

My point is that it sounds like there is at least one provider who is installing DNN 4.3.x as a "gold release".  This has a number of negative effects that you can't just slough off with "well, it's a release candidate":

1)  the hoster won't take the responsibility when that upgrade path to the gold release isn't a straight line;

2)  the end user -- who in many cases may not have a clue about this community -- will just walk away with a bad taste in their mouth about the product.

3)  For end users who do know about this community, we could see a lot of bad traffic on the site here that doesn't move us closer to a gold release, but is a rehash of the challenges facing folks using the RCs.
