After upgrading from 7.0.1 to 7.3.2 I have found problems with the HTML editor (posted in another thread)  and now I am getting the following error when I try to open Admin >Security Roles:

Security Roles Error: Security Roles is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DesktopModules.Admin.Security.Roles.FormatFrequency(String frequency) at ASP.desktopmodules_admin_security_roles_ascx.__DataBinding__control16(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnDataBinding(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind(Boolean raiseOnDataBinding) at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBindChildren() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind(Boolean raiseOnDataBinding) at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBindChildren() at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind(Boolean raiseOnDataBinding) at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind() at Telerik.Web.UI.GridItem.SetupItem(Boolean dataBind, Object dataItem, GridColumn[] columns, ControlCollection rows) at Telerik.Web.UI.GridItemBuilder.InitializeItem(Int32 dataSourceIndex, String& nextItemHierarchicalIndex, Boolean& itemIsInEditMode) at Telerik.Web.UI.GridItemBuilder.CreateItems(GridGroupingContext group) at Telerik.Web.UI.GridTableView.CreateItems(IEnumerator enumerator, GridColumn[] columns, ControlCollection controls) at Telerik.Web.UI.GridTableView.CreateControlHierarchy(Boolean useDataSource) at Telerik.Web.UI.GridTableView.CreateChildControls(IEnumerable dataSource, Boolean useDataSource) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.CompositeDataBoundControl.PerformDataBinding(IEnumerable data) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataBoundControl.OnDataSourceViewSelectCallback(IEnumerable data) at System.Web.UI.DataSourceView.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments, DataSourceViewSelectCallback callback) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataBoundControl.PerformSelect() at Telerik.Web.UI.GridTableView.PerformSelect() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.DataBind() at Telerik.Web.UI.GridTableView.DataBind() at Telerik.Web.UI.RadGrid.DataBind() at DesktopModules.Admin.Security.Roles.BindData() at DesktopModules.Admin.Security.Roles.BindGroups() at DesktopModules.Admin.Security.Roles. (EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

(FUNNY STORY HERE:  I couldn't PASTE the error until I selected HTML.  I could then return to Design screen.  This is the bug I posted.   Is it just me? )

I can open a user and then view their permissions.

Any help would be appreciated.

you may consider switching to CkEditor provider (download for free from http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com, unzip and install DNN 7 package like any other module)

Thanks Sebastian.  Apparently the Security Role problem was a release bug and my service provider fixed it.

I am assuming that your suggestion was related to the Editor problem.  I looked into chEditor.  PowerDNN support said, can't recommend custom module.  Ok.  I also found two articles on installing it.  One required a lot of custom code.  I am not a DNN, Visual Studio Web developer and I have been bitted before trying to keep track of non DNN code.

The second source said just install the module...

https://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/releases/view/125567

Is it really that simple?  Can I revert (once fixed) to the original or is this a one way street?

Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, it's that simple and you can switch back and forth at will.  Configuring CKEditor can have a bit of a learning curve.

Neither Editor is perfect, but at least you have a choice.
