Hello Everyone!

I was able to get the portal to install and run on my development pc and it ran on a temporary asp.net development server on port 1236.  I was happy with the results, and so went to deploy it on my web server.  However, after deploying the site is redirecting my browser to localhost:1236/sitename when I try to view it, giving me an error as there is no service running on the port.

I am assuming there is a certain way I need to build the site in VS 2k5, but I have not had any success as of yet.  Any guidance would be appreciated.

You need to update the alias list so that it contains the domain for the new location.  Right now you only have the localhost alias in your alias list so it is trying to run the localhost version of the site.  Therefore any access from any any machine other than the development server will fail because no other machine has a local version of DNN.  You can a access the site on the new server using localhost on the same port to update the alias list under Admin/Site Settings or you can add the new entry to the database table using Enterprise manager.

Thanks for the guidance. I modified the HTTPAlias field in the PortalAlias table and that solved the problem.

By the way, this was in DNN 4.3.2 for anyone interested in this fix.
