I am new to DNN. I have installed the starter kit on my machine for DNN 4.3.1. I am trying to create a new web site on a remote server from Visual Studio 2005. I get the following error. Unable to add 'C : Myfilepath...\Database.mdf' to the Web. The server connection timed out. I have sql express running on my machine (if that matters). Has anyone else seen this type of error? Thanks, Daron Smith

It is because the path you have for the database doesn't exist on the remote server....see the error message?  Unable to add 'C : Myfilepath...\Database.mdf' to the Web  The database that you will use on the remote is NOT the one on your local machine (which is why you won't upload it) so you probably have to:

a) create the database on the remote machine

b) move the files to the remote machine

c) modify the web.config file with the correct connection string for the remote host

I would re-read the install docs for more clarity.
