Wondering if anyone has suggestions for a module that can show members in a grid with a link to larger page with a bio about each person. I tried 2sexycontent but it really is sort of complicated and doesn't seem to have a lot of templates. If I have to build them myself, I don't really need an application for that. I liked that module but it seems unwieldy and too complicated.

I would like to show a grid of photos with names and a caption with a link to a l page with a nicely formatted bio.  Preferably something that would let me add them as vendors or some sort of special members so that I could display them in sortable groups. Anyone doing anything like that? I would love to look at some sites with similar implementations and ideas. If anyone is using anything for that, I would love to know what it is. Anyone using 2sexycontent to great affect? Even a lightweight shopping or catalog module might work. Something I could customize. Would love some suggestions.

 Thanks,

Beth Vest

Beth,

I am not aware of a module that does this.

I have done similar thing in the past using Razor scripts. I believe I borrowed some of the code several years ago from a blog post from Joe Brinkman.

You might also look at the code used to display members of a social group. Or, just use that code and organize your users using the social group tools that are available in DNN.

I am planning to revamp an older site that uses the Razor tools, and I plan to use 2Sexy to organize thengs a bit better, and alo borrow some of the demo code that comes with the module. I probably will use some Bootstrap components for the display, and to pop up bios on mousing over the images.

Good luck. If you have a coding mind, I think that the 2Sexy module seems like one that is worth climbing the learning curve.

Beth,

when you have questions for 2sexycontent, you should ask them in the discussion section of the project page (http://sexycontent.codeplex.com/) - afaik, Daniel is quite helpful.

Happy DNNing!

I would go with 2sexycontent

This one was build with it http://www.sqlmastersconsulting.com.a...

hover over the image and click on the I button

Its just a matter of a simple master child template and the fields in there you can define yourself . This one should give you a good start

You are not just limited to using your own defined content types you can also query the user database directly and use info from there.

I just finished an app where I query the journal database to be able to totally control how I want my listing output to be
